TuTech, the German VISP partner is also alctively involved in an Interreg IIIC cofinanced project European Learning Network (LNet) in which Hamburg together with four other cities: Amsterdam, London, Milan and Prague aim at developing common approaches to promoting enterprising in deprived neighbourhoods.

The 32 months project (July 2004 - February 2007) focusses on three themes:

  • The Enterprise Gap and Entrepreneurship

  • Innovation
  • Social Enterprise

On the 7th of March LNet arranged a one-day seminar in Brussels and brought together project partners, as well as guest practitioners from outside the partnership, including delegates from the European Institutions, representatives of Regional Offices in Brussels of EU and non-EU countries, and of Brussels-based NGO platforms and European networks.

The event was an opportunity to disseminate project proceedings and to discuss the LNet method of exchanging information and spreading good examples.

The Channel Hamburg project was presented as a good example in regard finding new innovative ways to tackle innovation barriers, promoting a positive brand for the local area and the local entreprises and achieving all this through a strong bottom-up perspective.
