Work Package (WP)-meeting

Transnational Cooperation
On the 29th and 30th of March the company ZEBAU GmbH received twenty members of the Malmoe Department of City Planning in Hamburg.
ZEBAU planned and organised an extensive Programme concerning the topic "after use of industrial facilities". Not only the famous Hamburg project HafenCity was of interest to the people from Malmoe, also the Harburg Inner Port was Part of  in the programme.

Points of the tour:
A trip through Wilhelmsburg, following a visit of Harburg Inner Port, Channel Hamburg, with a consultation by Tina Schmidt-Nausch, TuTech VISP-Team. Furthermore the guests took part in guided tours of the "Zeisehallen" and the "Fabrik" in Altona. The visit was completed with sightseeings of the lofts in the Falkenried, the "Gaswerk"-facility in Bahrenfeld and the vast construction site of the HafenCity.

Visit of the Amsterdam Town Planning Advisory Council (ARS)
In April we had the opportunity to show our place to several Members of the ARS.

The Amsterdam Town Planning Advisory Council (ARS), installed in 1957 by the City Council of Amsterdam, is an independent advisory body, compiled by experts on different fractions from the Amsterdam society. The ARS advises the city of Amsterdam requested and unrequested on issues concerning urban development, town planning, housing, traffic- and transport-issues in connection with the economic and social functioning of the city. The ARS has 35 members, who are representatives of various organisations like the Chamber of Commerce, Housing Corporations, the Dutch Railways, University, Trade Unions, etc. Most of the members are architects, urban planners, environmental planners or economists. This visit was arranged by the IBA GmbH.

IBA GmbH manages the "Internationale Bauausstellung IBA Hamburg" from 2006 to 2013.
The IBA Hamburg is trying to show how the core idea of the European city, that is the "city for all", can be maintained and further developed in the 21st century. The IBA Hamburg GmbH was established in autumn 2006. Public activities were launched at the beginning of January 2007, with a press conference, where the IBA Hamburg GmbH presented its logo and website.

The IBA Hamburg, together with the IGA (International Garden Show) which is also to be held in 2013, is taking up the strategy of the "Leap Across the Elbe" and taking a step further. It sees the architectural and social cracks which are clearly apparent on the Elbinsel as an opportunity to build new bridges.

One of the flagship projects will be the Harburg Inner Port with the focus on the Harburg Castle Island - the same place like in our VISP Project!
