Harburg Inner Port and Castle Island in the Media

Today, The Hamburger Abendblatt, issued:
Hamburgs HafenCity gets a small sister.
Harburg: Big plans for the Castle Island. Jury decides about preselection from entries to the architectural competition. To be built are offices, flats and a yachting port.

HafenCity soll kleine Schwester bekommen.
Harburg: Große Pläne für die Schloßinsel. Jury trifft Vorauswahl aus Einsendungen zum Architektenwettbewerb. Gebaut werden sollen Büros, Wohnungen und ein Yachthafen.

Our Comment:
New HafenCity in Harburg - In our ears this sounds like Music
It is not very often, that the Hamburger Abendblatt (in the Hamburg Metropolregion the mostly read daily newspaper) issues a nearly one page long article about the Harburg Inner Harbour. And the autor even compared this place with the most ambitious Hamburg project HafenCity. A second HafenCity in the South of Hamburg - in Harburg? Some of the "real" Hanseatic Hamburg people might be suprised by this idea.
Raising awareness among different target groups of Harburg's inner harbour area as a site for new investment.
Thanks are going to the VISP-Project: All the different activities for (and the envolvement of) the citizens of Harburg and Hamburg the VISP-Team was able to organize since 2004 brought a new understanding for this place. For the people envolved in the spatial planning development of the Harburg Innerport the growing interest in this place sounds like music.
