"Hamburg town construction seminar"

"Hamburg town construction seminar 2005"

VISP and TuTech are participating.

The "Hamburg town construction seminar" has a tradition for the past forty years. Traditionally with the beginning of a new year a series of lectures is given. The seminar participants (about 100 people) are architects, urban planners and similar professionals.

The year 2005 stands for the Hamburg town construction seminar completely under the device of communication.

The theme for ten lectures and discussions between January and March 2005 is:
"Town construction culture - between communication and dumbness !"

These were the titles of the first four lectures:

  • Growing city Hamburg
  • Citizens participation in urban planning - Examples from one of Hamburgs seven boroughs
  • New planning culture through new media - urban planning in the internet. The DEMOS (Delphi Mediation Online System) project
  • Communal contracts - moderation and procedures of participation.

In the self-conception the "Hamburg town construction seminar" is a independent discussion and further education forum for all specialist dealing with urban planning and housing. The following methodical goals are pursued and principles:

  • the critical debate about current topics and projects from town construction, town planning, landscape planning, housing, etc.
  • the reflection of the own position by views of the planning practice of other cities and regions
  • the interdisciplinary discussion with the speakers and among the participants
  • the promotion of an active planner scene as a component of Hamburgs planning culture.
