 After the visit to Enschede, the filmcrew arrived in Kortrijk to shoot the necessary film material about the local projects. On the agenda were : visit to the gate building with its various activities ( sport school, circus school, interview with the theatre association, recording of the CD of the L'Orchestre International du Vetex ), shooting at the business centre and the recording of the statement of the Mayor and some explanation about the project of the new library.

4 startcentres of social economy responsible for start up of 42 companies

West-Flanders counts 4 regional incubation centres for social economy since 6 years. One of them is Kanaal 127, one of the VISP partners in Kortrijk.

          Theatre play Offside at Viva Vetex 2005 Unie der Zorgelozen on national television ! The national television program SAM  makes portraits of  people with initiatives to improve their environment. On Wednesday the 28th of December, the Unie der Zorgelozen, the theatre company of the neighbourhood Venning-Veemarkt, has been presented.

Mosselbank : training for volunteers

                “De Mosselbank" is a social housing block in Kortrijk, with 99 flats spread over 9 entities (built in 1997). In the summer of 2001 there were some complaints about damaged goods.

L' Orchestre International du Vetex

             CD release at Viva Vetex 2005 ( Photo : Nancy Moreels ) The CD entitled ‘Le Beau Bazar’ is the result of the work in progress of  L’Orchestre International du Vetex, the local band that is involved as a citizen participation initiative in the neighbourhood of the Venning -Veemarkt. Flemish, Walloon and French musicians worked together and were supported by the cross border project Passpartout.

The Gatebuilding of the former Vetex factory, now baptised V-tex, has become a very attractive and multifunctional neighbourhood centre in Kortrijk thanks to the support of VISP.The Gatebuilding is part of the former textile factory that was closed down some fifteen years ago.

Mobile Environmental Care ( MEC ) exists since 5 years and recycles plastics and cleans jerrycans in Belgium. Since last year they are located in Kanaal 127 and now they opened a mobile unit in Lille ( F).

Werk. Waardig is a new social economy initiative in Kortrijk : 3 advisors will assist local authorities, public centres for social welfare and other organisations who want to engage vulnerable target groups in a creative way.
