Kortrijk city of design

Kortrijk aims at becoming an important European city of design. Various initiatives have been taken so far : the appointment of two design masters as advisors to the city, the presence of the association Interieur that organises the design fair every two years and various education programms at local highschools, such as industrial design (240 students).

Kortrijk most entreprising city of Flanders

Kortrijk has been awarded as most enterprising municipality of Flanders in 2004 out of 30 candidates by the Union of Self-employed Enterpreneurs thanks to the plans to establish a business centre in the hart of the city in order to revitalise the inner centre. Kortrijk struggles with a drain of entrepreneurs, which causes vacancies and loss of  the population.

Kortrijk becomes city of design

Kortrijk aims at marketing its city as the city of design. Therefore it has recruited 2 Design Masters in the beginning of this year in order give guidance and advice to various projects in Kortrijk in the next two years : Dominique Pieters and Marc Dubois.
