Innovation, a challenge for every SME
That is the opinion of the Business Centre Kortrijk, that supports innovating entrepreneurs. Big companies already found their way to innovation. They put big budgets and extra personnel aside in order to begin with the newest ideas, techniques and technologies in their businesses. Smaller SME’s and traders often lack the time and the money to invest in innovation. But because also for them these investments are essential, the Business Centre published a case study ‘ Innovation for self-employed businesses in the distribution and the crafts sector’.
Last year 36 traders of Kortrijk agreed to collaborate to an innovation audit. Together with an innovation advisor the entrepreneur learned to look at his business in an innovative way to gain new insights about product choice, attracting and keeping clients, work flow and decoration. The results of these audits were collected into in interesting brochure, available at the business centre. The business centre also starts in april some group sessions for the traders about the themes mentioned as conclusions and considerations in the study. Also a new edition of the innovation audit follows soon.
