The Flemish Minister of Culture gave the title of City of Taste 2007 to the City of Kortrijk. This means Kortrijk is host for the Week of Taste 2007 and organises the closing event on the 24th of November.

Italy will be the guest country for the edition 2007.

In order to have a project with the label of ‘Kortrijk, City of Taste 2007’, it must meet some criteria :

• an action to learn or promote taste in a broad sense
• an action that stimulates creativity and innovation in the food sector
• an action that gives attention to healthy food
• an action that respects tradition in taste and food, but presents it in a modern way
• an action that strives for sustainability in food
• an action that stimulates the celebration together in the society.

So far, about 40 projects have been presented to the city administration for selection.
