International competition Entente Florale

Entente

The City of Kortrijk is nominated for the International Competition Entente Florale.

On Friday the 7th of July 2006, Kortrijk received the international jury to show some local projects in greenery, which were evaluated based on various criteria : greenery and flowers, ecology and environment, city development and infrastructure, culture, education and sensibilisation, tourism and recreation, cooperation and communication.

One of the projects that has been visited is the butterfly garden at the Venning.

The other candidates this year are : Alba in Italy, Beaune in France, Cardiff in the UK, Kiel in Germany, Kilkenny in Ireland, Linz in Austria, Nagyatád in Hungary, Opatija in Croatia, Pilzen in the Czech Republic, Sencur in Slovenia and Zwolle in Holland.

The official result of the competition will be made public on the 15th of September.
