Book@Home
The Library of Kortrijk starts in November with a mobile service for a less mobile public ( sick, elderly or handicapt people ) with the Venning as a pilot area. The project Book@Home is a collaboration of the City of Kortrijk, the Public Centre of Social Welfare and an organisation that gives training and a first work experience to youngsters and is financed by ESF. Who wants to have their books brought at home, has to knock on the door of one of these partners with their request. They can easily screen the needs of the person who asks for the mobile service of the library. An employee of the library visits these clients to make an inventary of their requests, a courier comes by every four weeks with new books, music or films. In the main library, younsters pick up the phone and prepare the delivery.
