Visit of Ministre of Culture to Kortrijk

At the end of October the Flemish minister of Culture visited various cultural initiatives in Kortrijk, such as the Buda Island, the museum 1302 that will be opened to the public next year and Community Centre Overleie. The project of the new library ( part of VISP ) was presented to him. He confirmed that the concept is entirely what the vision of modern library policy is about : a meeting place for people who love literature, audiovisual material and multimedia. There was also a meeting with Unie der Zorgelozen, the theatre company that takes care of the yearly theatre play at the Vetex gatebuilding. He found inspiration in the new skatebowl, the last initiative in youth policy of the city of Kortrijk : 'This concept must be spread in Flanders, such realisations are ideal to link with social employment.'
