Flower Power in Kortrijk

The Department of Environment organised the fourth edition of  Flower Power in Kortrijk. The city has been decorated with 40.000 flowers, bamboo plants and vases in parks, on bridges and in the streets. Kortrijk has also a huge plant sculpture, called Cowboy Henk. People, passing by the marketplace on Saturday the 21th of May, received a flower in return of a smile. 2.200 flowers have been handed out. The Association of Public Green honoured the city with the greatest distinction for this greenery project. An independent jury decided that Kortrijk is in the top seven of cities with the best public green areas.
