SAGA participates in the project 'Child Orientated Catering' within the Leonardo Da Vinci Programme

Well-balanced nutrition can be seen as an important part of health promotion. With the increase of childcare facilities throughout Europe, the demand for child oriented catering is growing. This means the need to create the foundations for healthy eating behaviour at an earlier age has never been more important.

The project aims to improve the quality of education of home economics in the field of healthy nutrition for young children.

11 partners from 7 European countries will develop practical qualifications modules for home economics teachers and child care practitioners. These modules will be tested in the education of home economists and child care staff. Trainees in home economics and child care will get additional knowledge and competencies in the field of healthy nutrition.

"Child Oriented Catering" is a project funded by the European Communities Leonardo da Vinci Programme for 2 years, between October 2006 and September 2008.

Project Partnership
The qualification modules and new teaching concepts will be developed and integrated in their respective educational systems by 11 European partners from Austria, Germany, Luxembourg, The Netherlands, Sweden and United Kingdom. The partnership consists of day-care centres, schools, educational training centres and professional institutions.
