Library network in search of examples

Within the VISP-network, libraries want to gather information about library building projects. Goal is to present the data to librarians, municipalities and architects who are planning to build a new library.

The library-network is searching good examples. Photographs, texts and other material are welcome. Please e-mail to bart.noels@kortrijk.be.

Why?

Several of the VISP partners (Drammen, Hamburg, Kortrijk and Mölndal) are in the phase actual library of kortrijk     of building or moving to a new library, one that is meeting the requirements of the 21st century, with integrated services.

Kortrijk choses for combining youth-related functions with heritage-related facilities and adult education. A vivid market place must be the core of the new library, to be built after 2006. In Drammen, the new library is a shortterm project, Mölndal is following.

Libraries are specifically interested in combing Life Long Learning functions and facilities with the more traditional library functions. Good practices and examples are crucial for making building plans.
