The Public Centre for Social Welfare Kortrijk
A Public Centre for Social Welfare (PCSW) is a local public institution, founded in 1976, with a general mission to grant all people a life that suits to proper dignity. Article 1 of the organic law on the PCSW says that: Every man/woman is entitled to welfare services. These services have to enable every man/woman to lead a life that meets the societys standards of human dignity. This article shows that a PCSW cant be restricted to financial support or paying minimum wages, other means of support are part of the service, as there are :
- offering information and advise,
- budget control and administration, intercession by claims,
- judicial support,
- material support and asylum guidance in the local shelter,
- elderly and home care
- finally we also organise training courses, job experience, employment and we offer quality in housing at a low rate
