BALATONRENDES

Balatonrendes is located on the north side of Lake Balaton, half way between Badacsony and Révfülöp.
However the population of the village is only 140, it has been undoubtedly inhabited since the Roman Era.

After the Hungarian conquest it was a fishing and hunting village and later, after the Ottoman occupation the number of its inhabitants - together with the new settlers - was 300. Unfortunately the last few decades have not been too favourable for the population stabilisation of small villages, however the infrastructure of Balatonrendes is similar to any other Hungarian villages.

The village is one of the most excellent wine growing areas, visitors are always welcomed in the small cellars on the hillside. When taking a walk on the Rendesi-hegy one can enjoy the picturesque view of the Balaton Highland and the Hills of Somogy.
