BADACSONYTÖRDEMIC
The village of Badacsonytördemic was first mentioned in records in 1219 as "Turdemiz". Badacsonylábdi, a resort area belonging to the village, got its name from the "Lád" family conquering the Hungarian settlers of the late 9th century. The village is one of the settlements of the Badacsony Wine Region, with 960 inhabitants. It is a quiet little village beside Lake Balaton.
Things worth seeing : romantically beautiful stone-slides and basalt columns, Rodostó House, built for the 200th anniversary of Prince Rákóczi's death, Bujdosók, a path with 379 stairs between two large basalt towers, look-out of Tördemic, local Roman Catholic Church declared a historic monument, ancient wine cellars.
The hill is full of tourist paths. Owing to its geological, botanical, zoological value, this is a protected region. Tourists visiting this area will find accomodation in appartments, guest rooms, campings and pensions. The village is situated beside main road No.71, on the Budapest-Székesfehérvár-Tapolca mainline.
